2007 - Ilakaka, Madagascar - Quarry called "Banque Suisse" at 2 km from Ilakaka. These strip mines are dug by the one force of arms. The deposit in this part of Madagascar is estimated about 500 km2 of width. Vazaha (White people) or rich malagasy families are in general the owner of these quarries. The base pay of their diggers is between 3000 and 4000 ariary (1,5 and 2 euros) per day.
