ZEBU WAR
August 2021 - Madagascar - Between Amboasary Sud and Ambovombe on National Road 10, on August 31, 2021. The National Road 13 which connects the city of Fort-Dauphin on the southeast coast and the city of Betroka to the north. In the South of Madagascar, the national roads are for the most part very bad, which constitutes a real obstacle to the economic development of the region..For several decades, the South-East of Madagascar has been a victim of the "KERE" phenomenon, as the local population calls it. KERE is the food crisis due to a period of intense drought that causes farmers to stop growing crops for several months each year. Farmers find themselves without money and in a situation of "severe malnutrition", even famine..The lack of economic development in the region, accentuated by the feeling of being abandoned by the central power in Antananarivo, incites young boys to turn away from working the land and to participate in zebu rustling operations that will allow them to earn a better living.
