FOKONTANY MANAKARALAHY NORTH - Mr Lazamana Jean-Paul is "raiamandreny" (a head of family, an "elder"). He lives in his house in the middle of the bush at the edge of the RN10 in the South of Madagascar. His house is surrounded by the houses of his descendants. When asked how many grandchildren he has, he is unable to answer them and it embarrasses him a lot.
