TERMINUS OF CYCLONES
Remains of a bridge on the road between Anakao and Betioky, in the South-West of Madagascar. The bridge has been taken away by the HARUNA (cyclone) in february 2013. The HARUNA (cyclone) devastated the whole southern part of Madagascar, provoking violent floods that destroyed all crop fields and several housings in the region. 26 deaths and approximately 40 000 casualties have been counted by the malagasy authorities. These exceptional events, even for a region “accustomed” to cyclonic seasons, have triggered several consequent humanitarian operations from international NGOs.
