People from the village of BEKOAKE, 7 km from Tulear on the South-West coast of Madagascar, fetching water from a 3 meters depth hand-made well, dug out from the bed of the river FIHERENANA. During the cyclonic season, generally starting in january or february, the strong rains have been dragging sediments for years, they have greatly accumulated and have gradually altered the course of the river. Since most of the villages in the south of Madagascar are in the bush, the village of BEKOAKE neither has running water, nor electricity.
