Malagasy army tanks are positioned in the Antanimena district to control the movement of people and vehicles, on 23 March 2020 in Antananarivo, when President Andry Rajoelina declared the total containment of the cities of Antananarivo and Toamasina for 15 days to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus on Malagasy territory.
